UX Research & Design: Profession, Skills, Career Path

blog-detail-img

Did you know that websites and applications are also developed by people who aren’t responsible for their technical and visual implementation? Moreover, UX Design is a direction focused on planning the content of applications/websites. It creates the skeleton that UI (User Interface) designers bring to life and give visual appeal to.

Who is a UX Designer?

A UX (User Experience) Designer essentially acts as both psychologist and sociologist, studying your experience and mapping out how to make applications more user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and interactive. For example, they determine where buttons should be placed, how much information should be in a digital product, what features the application/website should offer, etc.

Every profession has specific skills that someone working in that field should possess. So let me introduce you to the essential Soft, Hard, and Transferable skills for a UX Designer.

Career Development

Why is UX Design important? First, I’ll tell you that this field is a means by which businesses can meet user needs. Regardless of what product a manufacturer creates, they still need user support. That’s why UX Design is becoming increasingly popular in the digital revolution.

To increase your interest in UX Design, let me tell you about annual salaries for UX Designers at famous companies. For example, at Meta, it ranges from $168,000-263,000, at Google – $162,000-264,000, at Apple – $149,000-234,000, and at Amazon – $145,000-232,000.

Pretty interesting and diverse field, isn’t it? Besides good compensation, this field gives you the opportunity to improve people’s daily lives and become their superhero in the digital world. Also, many professionals didn’t actually start their careers in UX Design. So if you’ve been thinking about changing professions for a while and can’t decide what interests you, UX Design is a great opportunity to test your strengths and find yourself.
