In today’s world, everything ultimately comes down to quickly and effectively perceivable illustrations for the eye, which are important for advertising in any field. The Sense of Illustration crash course is precisely the opportunity that will allow you to learn the ‘hidden gems’ associated with an illustrator’s work in a short time. In this blog, I’ll introduce you to one of the crash course participants, Nina Chubinashvili, who shares her impressions with us.

If you don’t know, I’ll tell you that the crash course lasts 2 weeks, during which students intensively study the main elements of illustration and how to properly position themselves in the market. According to Nina, these 2 weeks were very impressive for her. Besides the lecturer’s experiences, she found it interesting to discover people with common interests and exchange ideas with them.

"The past two weeks turned out to be much more impressive for me than I expected. I had high hopes for the course from the beginning because I was familiar with Anano's work, but I didn't think it would help me this much and give me motivation."

Regarding the work process, one part of the course is brief analysis, for which Nina chose a hidden danger, wrote down related keywords, and tried her best to create an illustration that went beyond her comfort zone, as this is the main goal of the course.

"From the sketch to the final result was quite a long way. I really wanted to draw in a style that went beyond my comfort zone, and I spent quite a long time choosing the composition. However, finishing it all was probably the most difficult part. After I thought I was done, I went over it again several times, tested different color schemes, and kept coming back to change small details that no one but me would notice."

While working on the brief-based project, Nina tried her best to fully consider the lecturer’s feedback and use the tricks she learned from her. The main thing was to gain like-minded people because, as you know, exchanging ideas with colleagues is important for this field and professional growth.

"The most valuable thing for me was that I discovered quite a few like-minded people, and interacting with them was very pleasant."

Among the topics discussed during the crash course, the portfolio creation part was particularly important for Nina, as it was then that she realized that the main thing is to find your style and create the right impression of yourself for clients.

"The portfolio review was important for me. It was kind of a confirmation that I'm on the right path. It's okay to have setbacks sometimes; the main thing is that the desire to work is in place."

For Nina, the Sense of Illustration crash course turned out to be a place to gain new knowledge, experience, and like-minded people. She shares her final impressions about this: “I never doubted Anano’s competencies for a moment, but she exceeded even the expectations I had. As for Commschool, my deepest thanks for putting in so much effort and ensuring that we had everything we needed.”

And I’ll tell you that if you’re interested in the design field and want to learn how to cope with the challenges in the field, the Sense of Illustration crash course is just for you! Join us!
